Description
Short tells many stories from his childhood and family, claiming he had the best childhood in the world. He moves on to talk about his time in the Vietnam War and how angry the injustices of it made him. He also explains his political awareness only increased through college at University of Virginia's College at Wise, Virginia. He explains he put that awareness to work at the Highlander Folk School in Tennessee where he worked for a number of years until dealing with a serious illness which brought him back home to Virginia where he began to work writing for the Roadside Theater Company--one of the arms of Appalshop.
