Partial Transcript: The following is an unrehearsed interview with Anne Winslow for the Frontier Nursing Service Oral History Project.

Segment Synopsis: A. Winslow was employed right after her college graduation with the task of opening a New York office for the Frontier Nursing Service. She was to get publicity, fund-raise, and then hold meetings with the New York committee. Winslow explains that the job found her because she knew people from the Breckinridge family. She was told to go to Kentucky during the summer to gain insight of the job that the Frontier Nursing Service did.

Segment Synopsis: When Winslow was hired by the FNS she was told to visit Kentucky to see how the organization worked. She tells of many experiences she had during that summer. She followed the nurses, and tells stories of her time with locals and staff.

Segment Synopsis: Winslow met quite a few people during her time with the FNS. She met Mary Breckinridge's father, Clifton Rodes Breckinridge. She socialized with a few locals but became much closer to the staff. She explains that she got a feel for the work and this helped her in her job of opening a New York office.
