Partial Transcript: Okay, this is Dale Johnson with PRIDE.

Segment Synopsis: Mayor Kirby talks about growing up in Rockcastle County, and how she did not have access to an indoor toilet until she was in the 4th grade. She goes on to explain that there was a stigma against it by many older people, saying that many people felt as though it was nasty. She also talks about how she disposed of trash as a child, saying that her family burned most of their trash.

Partial Transcript: Um, do you have a septic tank right now?

Segment Synopsis: Kirby explains that she does not have a septic tank, as Rockcastle County is very rocky and it is very expensive to install septic systems. She goes on to explain that there are actually many people in the county who don't have sewage because of this and a few people who don't have running water for the same reason.
