He then talks about the effect that World War II had on the university, including the new requirement that students take part in military drills. Hasan talks about the practice of Shiite students taking Sunnite theology because it was considered easier. He then discusses fines for missing prayers, as well as the separate deans for Shiite and Sunnite students. Next, Hasan tells a personal story about being badly hurt while playing hockey as a child, which led him to eschew sports.

Hasan also talks about the free barbers available in the hostels, as well as the various vendors who sold food and other goods to students. He then discusses the servants available to students at the university. Next, Hasan talks about obtaining permission from cinema monitors in order to attend a film.
