Segment Synopsis: Khan recalls Aligarh Muslim University as it was in the 1940s. Partial Transcript: Do you ever remember in Aligarh, or even in Rampur, any kind of, um, violence between Hindus and Muslims?

Segment Synopsis: Khan assesses the relations between Hindus and Muslims before the partition. Khan says that tensions tended to be worse in urban areas where Muslims were a minority. In Khan's own experience, in Aligarh Hindus and Muslims cooperated and had no conflicts. Additionally, Khan talks of his religious education, which included learning Persian, the native language of his mother.

Lastly, Khan considers the significance of being a Muslim in Pakistan, and the conflicts between the adherents of that religion residing there.

Segment Synopsis: Khan explains the meaning of an independent Pakistan. A democracy free from corruption is found to be the most important mark of an independent nation. Khan also criticizes the corrupt nature of the Pakistani parliament, and says that Partition leaders such as Jinnah would be disappointed in the way Pakistan has turned out. Then, Khan contemplates the effects of the partition upon India. Finally, Khan describes the values that a monument to Pakistan should embody, stating that many Muslims today are currently doing the opposite of this.
