Segment Synopsis: Smith talks about her family and her parents. Smith explains that she was the eldest of a large family. Smith describes when each of her family members married. Next, she talks about how she moved at age 11 to Etowah, Tennessee and the segregated communities she experienced. Smith talks about time she spent her grandparents, and her grandfather's stories about the Civil War.
