Through a partnership between the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and the University of Kentucky’s Office of LGBTQ* Resources, we are conducting an oral history project called OutSouth: LGBTQ+ Oral History Project.

Our central mission is to record oral histories in order to document the lives of Southern LGBTQ+ individuals and commemorate the ways those individuals have advanced LGBTQ+ communities both regionally and nationally.

The current OutSouth: LGBTQ+ Oral History Project interviews are accessible online: OutSouth Oral History Project
