The United States Coast Guard in the Vietnam War: 1965-1973

The United States Coast Guard served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1973. The missions and operations undertaken by the Coast Guard Cutters were essential in securing the coast of the Republic of Vietnam which stemmed the flow of weapons and munitions into the country. 8,000 Coast Guardsmen served in the war with seven making the ultimate sacrifice.
